I am the eggman

Crisi and I spent Thanksgiving day in Maryville with her dad's side of the family. I spent a little time with Papaw exploring his "Ponderosa Ranch." All of the buildings you see were built by hand by him.

Gotta lose your mind in

ROCK CITY. We saw it.

Third photo's a charm

Toney at Audiomasters was awesome and gave me trade in credit on the table that disintegrated, so I picked this one up instead. Sounds a little brassier than the other, and it definitely doesn't look as cool, but it works. Now I can listen to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass in peace.

I wanted a rock

Shortly after yesterday's picture was taken, the turntable died. Though it has been a great month for music, Fortuna's wheel is whisking my luck away.

We want a rock

It's been a great month for music...new records by The Flaming Lips, Raveonettes, Pearl Jam, and Monsters of Folk. Plus I got a new turntable and found TMBG's Flood on vinyl (on which record the namesake of my blog is found.) Spin the black circle.

Canjo

I also got this sweet new toy at Fall Fest.

Fall Fest 2009 - Photos by Crisi

Fall fest this year was fun, though less photogenic than last year. Maybe this is because it was really cold and I didn't feel like taking pictures. However, while we were at the Kansas concert Friday night, I had the idea for this gem:

Crisi nailed it. That's me and Billy Greer, Kansas's bassist since 1986 and defacto front man. He was an intense man.

And here's me with TN's largest pumpkin this year.

Classic American Muscle

Ben got a new toy, the Rock-ola 440 jukebox. Chris and I enjoyed opening it up and looking into it, which I think is the music lover's equivalent of looking under the hood of an '82 Camaro.

The show was amazing - one of the very best I've ever seen. Afterwards, Crisi and I talked to Colin about how we used his music during our wedding, and he seemed very touched and wished us the best. A great night was had!

Bell bucklin'

Crisi and I ventured out, despite our colds, for some home cookin' at the Bell Buckle Cafe. Catfish and white beans are the kind of food that heal the soul.

And as usual I saw some weird stuff to photograph. As a bonus, I found this surreal picture (below,) which I purchased for the price of $1.

Sippin' on some

green tea and sizzurp. I have a cold.

Greenway

Crisi and I are enjoying late evening walks while we still can. School starts for the both of us this month.

Abstract chairs

I bought some kitchen chairs on Craigslist, but I had to take them apart and wash them because they were used in a beauty salon and were filthy, especially on the bottom. One even has gum on it. But this is what the chairs looked like after I took them apart.

Bell Buckle

Crisi and I had a fun day in Bell Buckle before we got hitched.

Sun Prints, End Result

After several experiments, these turned out the best.
